Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026 · Last updated November 3, 2026
This policy explains what information Loving Digitals LLC collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to design, print and deliver your order and to stay in touch with you about it.
Who we are
Loving Digitals LLC. Our website address is https://lovingdigitals.com.
Email: design@lovingdigitals.com · Phone: (313) 685-1887
What we collect and why
Order and request forms. When you start an obituary or request a service, we collect what you choose to give us:
- Your contact details: name, email, phone number and, if you want delivery, your delivery address.
- Details for the obituary: your loved one’s name and dates, service information, the obituary wording or order of service, family names for the back page, acknowledgements and tributes.
- Your package choices and design preferences.
We use this to design, print and deliver your order and to contact you about it. Your answers are saved as you go, so you can come back and finish later.
Photos and documents you upload. Photos and documents are stored privately. They are never published or shared through a public link. Only our team can open them, after signing in, and we use them only to make your order. A photo’s embedded details (such as where it was taken) are not shown to anyone outside our team.
Accounts. If you create an account, you sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Once signed in, you may also choose a password; we store only a scrambled form of it, never the password itself. We store your email address and a record of your sign-ins.
Proofs. Your proofs are private. You view them after signing in with the email on your order, and we keep a record of your approvals and change requests so we print exactly what you approved.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your payment and its amount; we never see or store your full card number.
Email. We send emails about your order, such as confirmations, sign-in links and proof updates, through our email provider. We send these only when they are about something you asked for.
Memories & Tributes
Every digital memorial page has a Memories & Tributes section where family and friends may share a memory, without an account.
What we collect from someone who shares a memory: the name they give; their email address (required); optionally their relationship to the person who died; their written memory; and optionally up to five photos.
Review first. Nothing shared appears until a Loving Digitals administrator has reviewed it. The words and each photo are reviewed separately; an administrator may decline or later remove any of them.
Photos. Each photo is redrawn by our server before it is stored: hidden metadata such as camera details and location is removed, and large photos are reduced so that the longest side is at most 1600 pixels. The picture is not otherwise changed. Video is not accepted.
Email addresses are never shown, never given to the family, never used for marketing and never sent an automatic confirmation. They are kept for 12 months from the date shared and then cleared, and can be used by the person who shared to ask us to erase everything they shared on that memorial.
Text messages
On some order forms you can choose to let us text you about that order. This is optional, is only about that order, and is separate from any marketing messages. We will email you either way.
We do not currently send marketing text messages through this website. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of purchase.
Design with AI
If you use Create with AI, our AI provider, OpenAI, helps in two ways. To write a draft, the facts you type for the obituary (such as names, dates, family, life story, memories and service details) are sent to OpenAI, and only after you agree. To suggest designs, only your design brief and any changes you ask for are sent — never the loved one’s name, dates or wording — plus an inspiration image only if you tick the box to send it. Your loved one’s portrait and other photos are never sent to an AI provider; removing a portrait’s background happens on your own device. Your draft and designs are a starting point: our designers prepare your obituary, and you approve a proof before anything is printed.
Embedded video
Some pages include a video hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube (Google) may collect information as described in its own privacy policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep your order details, files and proofs for as long as we need them to complete your order, answer questions about it or arrange a reprint, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your choices”).
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing design@lovingdigitals.com or calling (313) 685-1887. This does not include information we are required to keep for legal, accounting or security purposes.
You can accept or decline analytics and ad measurement cookies, and change your choice at any time, with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Declining does not affect anything you can do on the site. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser always turns ad measurement off.
How we protect your information
Your information is sent over encrypted connections. Your files and proofs are stored privately and can be opened only by you, when signed in, or by our team. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
If something goes wrong
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions about you. Design with AI only suggests design ideas; our team makes every decision about your order.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page.
